What does the Cartier meringue vole smell like?
Fresh
, meringue Vole is dewy, creamy, green and really fresh, it’s such a pure, innocent scent on my nose and it’s such a realistic soliflore. As if you were sniffing a real white lily, with all its nuances, such as the subtle waxy of the petals, the (rather blurred) fluffy yellow pollen, a touch of green from the stem, and an overall earthiness that envelops everything — even the “floral” part of the scent, which is actually a bit weak — just like natural lilies. Mathilde Laurent, who wrote the notes, is responsible for the tempting stolen kisses of the publication of Meringue Vole. Not the worst floral perfume I’ve ever smelled, I won’t wash myself but I’m not sure I’m going to finish the sample I’ve been given, I’ll try it again and see but
I definitely won’t buy a full bottle.
I received a sample of Meringue Vole otherwise I wouldn’t even look at it after looking at the notes. The longevity is absolutely great—my skin is eating scents and meringue Vole is still there, more than 9 hours later. I had expected a more romantic, nostalgic and seductive scent of white flowers because of the name Baiser Volé, which refers to a 1968 Truffaud film about a first love. On a side note, I love that the name Meringue Volé means Stolen Kiss, which suggests the innocent girl’s blush
when her lips are covered by a brave and enthusiastic Admirers will be surprised.
You could take meringue vole at face value and focus on the frilly flowers, or you could dive deeper and think of petals that are crushed on the skin. Meringue Volé manages to avoid this, and I find that the way it imitates a real flower is impressive — not only in its detailed, pollen-rich nuances, but also in the very natural, smooth feel of its notes. Meringue Vole is a lovely floral perfume, but this is the only time of year I really feel like wearing it. Meringue Vole is a very soft and sophisticated lily scent, very wearable and suitable for environments
where there is a strong scent frowned upon.
I’ve never tried any other Cartier scents but I smelled La Panthere on a card and it was STRONG so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this scent. When I first tasted Cartier’s meringue Vole, I was sent back to a flower shop where my mother helped out as a young girl. I’ve tested Meringue Vole from time to time for months and I not only love it but now I also want every flanker. Extremely slim, elegant bottle that is reminiscent of the classic Cartier bottle, which opens like a golden lighter or
a compact bottle.
For flower lovers and fresh summer scents, this would be perfect, it is a soft, long-lasting but not strong, thick perfume. I’m on my third bottle right now, it’s not confusing or mysterious, it’s absolute lily ❤️ you smell
it right away.
What does the meringue vole mean?
I love all parts of the journey that Meringue Volé takes me on, but the drydown with vanilla accents is particularly delightful. The lily is the main impression, but when I wear meringue volé, I find that it oscillates between a rose and a gardenia, creating the illusion of a lily. The sweetness is softened by the green notes, and the character of meringue volé is elegant and gentle rather than delicious or heavy in this phase. Boff, that’s a perfume name that for me essentially means “hit a mole” or conjures up the notorious baseless claim about Richard Gere
.
As soon as the flower layers unfold, the neon glow remains and meringue volé becomes lush and velvety. Do you see me as someone who knows that ‘meringue’ as a verb without ‘le’ or ‘un’ means so much in French, um, hmm. After experiencing the pretty but overly shy Cartier de Lune, I assumed that Meringue Volé would fit her name, which means “stolen kiss” in French, as she has a delicate and fleeting character. Although the beginning is sparkling and radiant, meringue volé gets warmer and richer over time, transforming from a wafer-thin veil to a
comforting cashmere wrap.
Playing with sensations is just as interesting a part of the Meringue Volé experience as its sophisticated character.
What does Cartier meringue fou smell like?
The perfume is long-lasting, I can smell it the next day when all that’s left is the nice, creamy scent plus soft chocolate. Meringue Fou is the breeze you feel when you stand on the floor of your ex-lover’s apartment and realize that it’s all over. Another scent I liked to think of when trying out meringue fou was Grojsman’s 100% Love by S-Perfume, for which I think BF is a mainstream homage. The raspberry facet also includes this natural tartness — there is a very green note here that makes it smell as fresh — like a real raspberry — not like a
raspberry with candy syrup.
The orchids aren’t sharp, but they’re not as realistic as the flowers in meringue volé, but you get something that’s inspired by lipsticks and smells vaguely of pink flowers. Cartier’s in-house perfumer, Mathilde Laurent, shows a younger woman how to be playful with a scent of purple orchids, a touch of white chocolate and an aura that imitates the scent of lipstick. Like Karin, I like meringue volé (and in my case especially the green EDT version) and L’Envol gave me some hope for the masculine side, but this whole review just got me interested in YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stains. But due to the plastic texture of the sweet, fruity scents, the bitterness of cocoa powder hasn’t managed to provide an interesting twist that meringue fou desperately needs; instead, it just enhances the
overall sticky, synthetic feel.
When I sprayed for the first time, I could smell a lot of green and a little lily, which reminds me of meringue vole, but that settles quickly and only appears faintly in the background afterwards (I sometimes think Cartier doesn’t reveal all the notes they add to a scent). I’ve definitely taken a moment to get used to it. First, I expected something as instantly exhilarating as the original Meringue Vole, which is an absolute favorite for me. To capture lipstick’s elusive aroma, Cartier perfumer Mathilde Laurent was inspired by the intense powderiness and sweetness of the orchid. Apart from meringue Vole, I didn’t like any (although I like Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil
with my husband).
But I also get some of the green flower stalk and lily DNA of Meringue Vole from Meringue Fou and light musky and peppery notes. It smells like several (orchid) flowers that have a sweet scent of white chocolate with just a hint of raspberry. Meringue Fou is clearly Cartier’s offering for the younger generation, but there is something about it that always attracts me. Cartier isn’t very interested in revealing all the notes of their perfumes, but I found out today that this
It also contains white chocolate.
When did the Cartier meringue vole arrive?
Yes, the bottle is really unusual, almost perfect and fits the image of a Cartier woman, and I think the scent does it too, elegant, minimalistic, in a way reserved, but very beautiful like a sculpture. After about 8 hours of significantly clean projection, meringue Vole EDT behaves and maintains stability between green notes, rose and lily, which deserve recognition, niche perfumes that allude to the highest quality of things that allude to fine people, and bathed and who know how to dress well. At this moment, there is still some green left over from the aldehyde, which is why this stage smells like the opening of Meringue Volé EDP. It is said that it is aimed at a young market (or at least younger, and I guess Cartier’s fragrance audience is probably not that young from the start), but it is not easy, not even candied, bland or boring
.
Amazing how it ends, is upright and matches their grades, one respects the other and all together they design Meringue Vole Eau de Toilette for Cartier. It’s quirkier than Calvin Klein’s Neo-Lily Beauty, and the bottle, which is modeled on a Cartier cigarette lighter, seems (I haven’t seen it in person yet) extremely desirable. My French is really awful, almost non-existent, but at first glance I thought Meringue Vole (later I saw that it was Volé) probably meant “kiss the vole” and I certainly didn’t like that. I could be completely wrong but right now Meringue Vole is making me think of that bubble
bath.
When you buy meringue Vole EDT, you’re not buying lily soliflore, but a sprayable lily plant. I like violet leaves and I have a large bottle of EAU DE CARTIER CONCENTREE, but there aren’t enough lilies here to imagine MERINGUE VOLE EDT as a lily perfume. Perfumes with bright notes, that’s definitely what enchants me, and this meringue Vole in its eau de toilette version pretty well sums up this feeling of live perfume from its production. I would like to explore this note further and meringue Vole sounds like an interesting variant that
is worth it is to be tried.
Well, and I finally smelled this new Cartier scent and was actually surprised to like it, kind of different, not too strong but nice. I haven’t tried the eau de parfum yet, but I must say that this creation feels more like an EAU DE CARTIER flanker than a new floral perfume. The Drydown of Meringue Volé EDT is a creamy lily with a slight touch of vanilla that is pretty similar to the original
EDP version
